Terms of service
Last updated 26 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Mikhail Mukhau for the use of Child Logbook. Please read the second section even if you read nothing else: it is the one that matters for your child’s safety.
1. Who you are contracting with
Child Logbook is operated by Mikhail Mukhau, Powstańców 41B m. 5, 05-091 Ząbki, Poland (sole trader registered in CEIDG, NIP 9512535915, REGON 521343722, VAT PL9512535915). You can reach a human at [email protected]. In these terms “we” and “us” mean that business, and “you” means the person who holds the account.
2. What this is, and what it is not
Child Logbook is a logbook. You tell it what happened — a feed, a nappy, a sleep, a dose of medicine — and it records it and reads it back to you as a timeline. That is the whole of it.
It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical advice, diagnosis, monitoring or treatment. It does not decide whether a feed was enough, whether a temperature is dangerous, or whether a dose is safe. It cannot tell that a child is unwell, and it will not alert anyone if something is wrong. A medicine reminder is a note you asked us to keep, not a clinical instruction — check every dose against the label and against what your doctor or pharmacist told you.
Never delay seeking medical help because of anything this app shows or fails to show. If you are worried about your child, contact a healthcare professional or your local emergency number.
3. Who may use it
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and able to enter into a contract. The account is for personal and family use.
Sign-in is handled by Clerk. Keep your credentials to yourself: anything done through your account is treated as done by you, and anyone who can open your account can read everything in it. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.
4. What you log, and about whom
You will be recording information about a child, and some of it — medicine, symptoms, feeding — says something about their health. By logging it you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or that you have the guardian’s permission to keep this record, and that you agree to us processing it for the purpose of running the logbook for you. You can withdraw that agreement at any time by deleting the data or the account.
The same applies to the mother’s own record, where one is kept: it is hers, and it needs her agreement.
What we do with any of it is set out in the privacy policy, which is part of this agreement.
5. The free plan
The free plan is a working logbook, not a trial that expires. It covers one child (the mother’s record is free on every plan), voice and typed logging within the monthly allowance described below, the full 24-hour timeline, the day summary, your complete history however far back it goes, and export. We do not put a card in front of you to use it.
6. Premium: price and what it adds
Premium costs €4.99 per month or€39.99 per year. Both prices include VAT; the exact tax depends on where you are, and Stripe calculates it at checkout. It adds up to five children, up to three linked voice assistants, and a larger monthly allowance for voice and AI features.
Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card. Invoices come from Stripe and are available in the billing portal, which you reach from Settings.
We may change prices. An existing subscription keeps its price until the end of the period it has already paid for, and we will tell you before a new price applies to you; if you do not want it, cancel before the renewal.
7. The 14-day trial
The first time an account subscribes, Premium starts with a 14-day free trial. A card is collected when you start it, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel at any point during those 14 days and you pay nothing. If the card cannot be charged when the trial ends, the subscription simply stops and the account returns to the free plan.
The trial is offered once per account. Cancelling and subscribing again does not start a new one.
8. Renewal and cancellation
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. You cancel in the Stripe billing portal — one link from Settings, no phone call, no retention questions.
Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not cut you off on the spot. Premium features keep working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and the account moves to the free plan after that. If a payment fails we keep your access on while Stripe retries, and show you a banner rather than locking you out.
9. Your right to withdraw, and refunds
If you are a consumer in the EU you have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. Because a subscription starts working immediately, by subscribing you ask us to begin providing the service at once and acknowledge that once it has been fully provided for a period you lose the statutory right to withdraw from that period.
We do not want that to be the end of it, so beyond the statutory position: ask within 14 days of any charge and we will refund that charge in full, whether or not you used the app. Write to [email protected]. Refunds go back to the card that paid, through Stripe. Outside those 14 days a cancellation stops the next charge and the current period runs to its end, as above.
10. If you downgrade or stop paying
Nothing you logged is ever deleted because you stopped paying. If you drop to a plan that allows fewer children than you have, the extra children become read-only: their history stays, stays readable and stays exportable, and you can still edit or delete what is there — you just cannot log anything new against them until you archive one or upgrade again. The choice of which to archive is always yours, never ours.
11. The voice and AI allowance
Understanding a spoken or typed sentence costs us money, so each plan includes a monthly allowance measured in AI tokens: currently 100,000 on the free plan and 2,000,000 on Premium. A typical dictation costs on the order of one to four thousand. The free allowance runs to the UTC calendar month; a paid one runs with your billing period.
When the allowance is used up, voice and AI parsing stop until it resets. Everything else — typing an entry in yourself, reading, editing, exporting — keeps working. We may adjust these numbers as the underlying costs change, and will tell you before reducing them.
The allowance is for one household’s logbook. Sharing an account around, reselling access, or driving the app with a script are all outside it, and are grounds for suspension under section 17.
12. Voice assistants
Premium can link Child Logbook to Alice, Alexa or Google Assistant so you can log by speaking to a speaker. Those assistants are run by Yandex, Amazon and Google, not by us. Using them means accepting their terms and their privacy practices as well as ours, and what they do with your voice before it reaches us is governed by them. We can only promise for our own side of the link. If one of them changes or withdraws its platform, that integration may stop working; the rest of the app does not depend on it.
13. Your data stays yours
The entries you make are yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your entries, show them back to you, process them to turn a sentence into an entry, and back them up. Nothing more.
We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not sell it. Audio is never stored: a recording exists in memory for the length of one request and is then gone. The transcript is kept with the entry it produced, so a wrong entry can be explained, and is deleted with it. A dictation we could not understand is kept for up to 90 days for diagnostics and then deleted automatically.
You can export everything and delete everything yourself, at any time, without asking us: Settings → Export and Settings → Danger zone. Deleting the account removes your entries from both of our databases and cancels any subscription. It cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy.
14. The services we rely on
Running Child Logbook means using other companies: Clerk for sign-in, Stripe for payments, Google (Gemini) to turn sentences into entries, and our hosting and storage providers. They act on our instructions under contract. The current list, and what each one receives, is in the privacy policy.
15. Availability, and what we may change
We work to keep the service up and your data safe, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability: maintenance happens, and providers we depend on have outages. Keep this in mind for anything you would be in trouble without — export gives you a copy that does not depend on us.
We may change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what you are paying for, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and get back the unused part of what you paid.
16. Using it properly
Do not use Child Logbook to break the law or anyone’s rights; do not attempt to reach other people’s accounts or data; do not probe, scrape or overload the service; do not resell it or pass off access as your own product; and do not upload anything malicious. If you find a security problem, tell us at [email protected] before telling anyone else, and we will not come after you for looking.
17. Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time: cancel the subscription, or delete the account outright. We will not make either one difficult.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where we must in order to comply with the law. Except where the law requires otherwise or the breach makes it impossible, we will warn you first, give you a chance to put it right, and give you a window to export your data. If we close a paid account for a reason that is not your breach, we refund the unused part of the period.
18. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for providing the service with reasonable care and skill. Where the law does not allow us to limit our liability — for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for our statutory obligations to consumers — nothing here limits it, and nothing here affects your rights as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.
Beyond that, our total liability to you for anything arising out of this agreement in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, and — see section 2 — the app must not be used as a basis for medical decisions, so we are not liable for decisions taken as though it were.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When a change is more than a correction of wording, we will tell you in advance by email or in the app. If you do not accept the new version, you may cancel before it takes effect and we will refund the unused part of what you have paid. Continuing to use the service after the date it takes effect means you accept it. The date at the top of this page always says which version you are reading.
20. Law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the law of Poland. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings in your own courts.
Please write to [email protected] first — nearly everything is faster to fix that way. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
